Movement for Chiropractic Quality and Integrity

Dedicated to Serving the Exceptional Chiropractic Experience

Stockholm Syndrome and Subluxation-Centered Chiropractic

The Stockholm Syndrome is a seemingly irrational psychological phenomenon in which a victim will show empathy and positive feelings towards their captors, even to the point of defending them. It was coined after a 1973 bank robbery in Stockholm, in which the captives later defended their captors.

The vitalistic, subluxation-centered profession has been suffering from this mentality since 1974 when the Council of Chiropractic on Education (CCE) became the only accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. It, among other factors, is a probable reason for the many political actions by chiropractors and important educational decisions in our colleges over the years that have compromised the profession’s ability to develop and teach an exemplary, vitalistic model reflective of modern advancements in science and capable of ensuring proficiency in its graduates’ skills and knowledge in the art and economics of chiropractic, all the while being exceedingly safe to the public.

When one’s freedom has been taken by force, as witnessed by the initial moves by the CCE, their slow, methodical stripping of rights, and the proverbial chains of National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) testing and state requirements in place, it has been shown that the belief that one cannot escape is very common. This feeling of apathy has plagued the profession for years as our captors have petted us on the head in meager attempts to pacify us.

That time is OVER.

The CCE and others involved in the removal of chiropractic’s core vitalistic philosophy from the conservative colleges through force is an affront to your freedom, the freedom of the chiropractic profession and to the ideals of justice and liberty on which this country, the country that birthed chiropractic, were founded.

Anything less than the right of the chiropractor, the chiropractic college, and the students learning this philosophy, science and art in their classrooms and clinics to practice and teach chiropractic in its modern, vitalistic form is unacceptable.

The continued purposeful dilution of your rights and your profession without academic or legal cause, in order to increase the market share, influence and ability to legislatively define a liberal interpretation of the profession will be met with continued resistance with no end in sight until peace and freedom are achieved.
